Sisterhood Series - Helen Fletcher

Welcome to the fifth edition of our Sisterhood Series, where we celebrate the inspiring women who surround and support the Sisters & Co community.
This weej, we sit down with effortlessly elegant and grounded Helen, a proud Mount local whose relaxed coastal style reflects life by Mount Maunganui. From her love of designers like Alemais and Chloé to her simple daily rituals by the sea, Helen shares the pieces, places, and philosophies that shape her everyday.
What are your three go-to pieces in your wardrobe right now?
My favourite three pieces that are on rotation this summer include my Alemais dresses; the prints are amazing, they fit beautifully, and keep you cool in the heat. My Frame shorts (I’m a big fan of denim and these are incredible), and my Marle vest, which is the most versatile piece and can be worn on its own or layered — what’s not to love!

How do you like to start your mornings, are there any rituals that set the tone for your day?
My mornings always start with a cup of tea for me and a coffee for my hubby, usually in bed looking at the ocean. Then it’s a little chaotic when all the kids are home, but calmness descends once we step onto the sand and walk our dog, Rocky. I walk every morning and evening and am usually on the beach several times a day — we love living at the Mount.
How would you describe your personal style, both in fashion and at home?
I love fashion. I think my style has evolved over the years into a (semi) relaxed vibe — probably influenced by where we live. I love dresses and wear them on rotation over summer, but I’m a jeans girl and that’s what I’d wear most days when it’s not summer. I love accessories, starting with shoes, scarves are a close second, and jewellery — don’t get me started!
I don’t do clutter and have a one in, one out rule for my wardrobe. The same mantra applies at home — I can’t have loads of stuff around me. If it’s not used, it’s finding a new home… and who wants to do all that dusting!
Are there any designers, brands, or creative influences you’re drawn to at the moment?
I love Chloé — beautiful, feminine, and edgy — it’s one of my favourites. I also think Tom Dixon is exceptional and have his glasses, vases, candles, and bowls (a little overboard perhaps, but we use everything!). I also love Sisters & Co’s new brand Innate — their throws are snuggly and warm, perfect for cooler days and nights.

What pieces in your wardrobe or home hold the most meaning for you?
I’m not sure I have a favourite piece in my wardrobe or home — I’d say Logan and our children. They are amazing (most of the time!). But if pushed, my wedding dress. I put it on every year on our anniversary (2 November) and I still love it — some moments are just special.
Is there a space in your home that feels especially special or grounding?
We love our home, and coming from a serial renovator, that’s saying something! I love our garden and sitting by the pool. Over the years, so many special moments with friends and family have been spent hidden away there — talking, laughing, crying. It’s a very tranquil place and holds a lot of secrets.
Do you have a mantra or philosophy that guides the way you live or style your life?

Nothing comes easy. Work hard. Keep it simple. Be grateful.
Don’t roll your eyes — that’s my kids’ role! Seriously, though, we love our Mount community. Being part of an eclectic bunch is both soulful and joyous. I feel nothing but gratitude living our life here — and the day I discovered Sisters & Co 17 years ago sealed that.
Stay tuned for more inspiring conversations with the incredible women behind the Sisters & Co community.
