Sisterhood Series - Maria Bayly

Welcome to the sixth edition of our Sisterhood Series, where we celebrate the inspiring women who surround and support the Sisters & Co community.
This month, we sat down with the beautiful Maria Bayly in Amier Home to talk all things style, daily rituals, and the pieces that mean the most to her. Known for her relaxed yet polished approach to fashion, Maria shares her love of timeless denim, favourite designers like Camilla and Marc and Anine Bing, and the simple moments that set the tone for her day.
From wardrobe staples to life philosophies, here’s what Maria had to share.

What are your three go-to pieces in your wardrobe?
Currently loving my white Frame jeans and Camilla and Marc cream Kenya top. I have a lot of white and cream, which was great for our recent White party to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. I also love my blue Camilla and Marc Noguchi shorts, which are a dressier option than my fav Frame denim shorts
Any non-negotiables in your morning routine that help set the tone for the day?
Rob brings me a cup of tea in bed while I do Wordle and then go for a walk - I try to do at least 5000 steps before breakfast. Really missing being able to walk our favourite Mount/Mauao though.

How would you describe your personal style, both in fashion and at home?
I love fashion and have passed this on to my daughters Molly and Bella (who often go “shopping” in my wardrobe!) My style tends to be casual and relaxed but love a bit of bling/embellishments and accessories (sunglasses are another weakness). I definitely have a jeans obsession and when I find a style I love (like the Anine Bing Hugo jeans) I often buy it in all colours. Also love shirts and gravitate to blue stripes! At home, I love a mix of antique and modern pieces. I am often drawn to quirky pieces - I seem to have quite a few monkey, bird and cabbage homewares!

Are there any designers, brands, or creative influences you’re drawn to at the moment?
My favourite designers are Camilla and Marc, Anine Bing and Alemais.
What pieces in your wardrobe or home hold the most meaning for you?
I would say my jewellery, which all holds special meaning, in particular my Van Cleef bracelet that the girls and Rob bought me after my heart surgery for good luck. In my home, it is without a doubt, my family.

Do you have a mantra or philosophy that guides the way you live or style your life? Not a mantra, but I love to have fun and try not to take things too seriously! I love the saying from The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, “Everything will be okay in the end, and if it's not okay, it's not the end!"
